Privately Printed not dated but pre 1882 Limited Edition. No.6 of 25 copies. hardcover VG no dj 
95pp. VG in dusty orange cloth, little marked on spine and rear cover. Endpapers tanned but pages o.w very clean. Edges uncut. Presentation copy with inscription to endpaper - signed 'the Editor, 1882'. Simon Fraser, 11th Lord Lovat (c1667 - 9.4.1747) was a Scottish Jacobite, Chief of Clan Fraser, famous for his violent feuding and changes of allegiance. In 1715 he had supported the House of Hanover but in 1745 changed sides and supported the Stuart claim to the crown of Scotland. Lovat was among the Highlanders defeated at the Battle of Culloden and was convicted of treason against the Crown. He was the last man in Britain to be beheaded on Tower Hill, London.
