iv+246pp. VG in blue cloth, very sl. rubbed at extremes. Pages lightly tanned at edges. Sig. and address to endpaper. A scarce collection of trials covering some much neglected Canadian cases. Chapters include When Fenianism Flourished and Fell; When a Statesman Perished in the River; When Biddulph Township seethed with Crime (the Donnellys); When Oka Seminary went up in Flames; When a Child was sent to the Gallows; A St. Patrick's Day Riot in Toronto, etc. The reports of the trials originally appeared in the Toronto Sunday World and the Orange Sentinel.

Toronto Lee-Collins 1926 First Edition Hardcover VG No Dj 
252pp. Red cloth very sl. rubbed, but still clean and bright. Minor foxing to endpaper. Stamp of previous owner and ink number on endpaper, along with inscription SIGNED by author dated 1928. Minor foxing to fore-edge but otherwise internally still a very clean copy. Ten cases from Canada with chapters including Where the Ground Stays Barren - murder of young Elizabeth York in Richmond; A Norland Nemesis - bad-feeling between neighbours that led to murder; The Shot Heard around the World - the infamous Blenheim Swamp murder (case of Englishman Reginald Birchall); Who Killed the Treasurer of Ancaster, etc. Endpaper inscription reads "Miss Elizabeth Meikle from Albert R. Hassard, Toronto, Dec. 22. 1928".
