606pp+illus. A tight, re-backed copy with original scuffed and slightly chipped spine, some wear to corners and rear cover rather scuffed. New endpapers. Contemporary note to title page. Final page of the Appendix is a facsimile that has been bound-in. Some pages are dusty and foxed, with little marking to fore-edge but overall a more than reasonable copy of this very scarce edition. The first edition was also 1891. The author has added a Note on Mr Justice Stephen whom he criticised in the book, printing his comments in reply to that criticism. A List of Subscribers is printed at the beginning of the book - among them J. Fletcher Moulton, Dr Forbes Winslow and Messrs. Roe & Macklen, Mrs Maybrick's American solicitors. Now very hard to find.
