Tightly bound and clean internally with just light tanning to endpapers and minor foxing to fore-edge. Told by the founder of the Burns Detective Agency who gathered evidence against John J. McNamara and James B. McNamara, two men with no conscience, finally bringing about their conviction in Indianapolis. They had destroyed the Los Angeles Times Building and its occupants in 1910 and never shown any remorse. Burns faced death threats, bribes and lies against his reputation as the net closed on the leaders of the International Bridge and Structural Iron Workers Union, who betrayed its members to the anarchists.
