The story of the Texas longhorns whio made more history than any other breed of cattle the world has ever known and pioneers in their own right. The author tells of the men who brought their cattle with them; the Mavericks and Maverickers and the abrupt justice of the rope. He describes the terrible excitement of the stampede; bull fights on the range; 'ghost' steers, fabulous treks and Indian torture. Very well illustrated with a coloured frontispiece, line drawings in text and also a photographic section showing various varieties of cattle, their characteristics, etc.
