Near this spot on April 14th, 1881, four men were shot to death at almost the same instant'. Newspapers across the country had headlines of the 'Bloody Battle' and 'War Raging in El Paso'. This is the first book dedicated to George W. Campbell, one of the victims who was actually shot by Marshal Stoudenmire. Campbell had served as deputy sheriff and city marshal.
