Yet after writing a message to Robert Kennedy - 'Do not only wipe out the gangsters but please wipe out the city officials' - Ann Drahmann Coppola committed suicide in her hotel room in Rome. After the death of her first husband, gambler Charley Drahmann, Ann had married the notorious Mike Coppola. Mike showered her with gifts but also beat her savagely. Eventually she found out where he stashed his vast, undeclared income along with the names of the key operators and took all the information to the IRS. She fled under heavy guard to Rome where she ended her own life. Index.
