Police History Society The Police History Society was founded in 1985 and now has over 350 members world-wide, although most are in the U.K. They include serving and retired members of police forces, academics, librarians, writers, police forces and police related museums and people from many occupations who have an interest in police history. The Murder Files The Murder Files is a superb site run by Paul Williams, which is a great starting point for any true crime devotees, family historians and researchers requiring information relating to murders and executions in Great Britain. It is also a prime source on police officers murderered whilst on duty between 1700 and 2000. Tough Times & Grisly Crimes A great site for those interested in 19th Century crime, especially in the North East of England. Nigel Green is an authoritive and well established author who has a number of books to his credit. His latest volume is available to purchase from his own website.
