Greenhalgh and James Roberts in 1891, this edition included more than 50 new Acts and 160 fresh cases. The object was to give the police a full reference on the Statutes to which they had to refer in the course of their daily duties. Sections give a brief summary of the law as it applied to numerous subjects such as Aliens, Sale of Poisons, Lunatics, Extradition, Vagrants etc. Index shows subjects to which the Statutes are likely to apply and there is an explanatory list of Abbreviations.
