Thomas M. McDade, a former FBI Agent involved in the deaths of the Barker Gang and 'Baby Face' Nelson, amassed a superbly detailed record of 1,126 titles relating to American murders, each one listed alphabetically under the name of the murderer or the principal person suspected, charged or tried. The cases range from Thomas O. Selfridge, who killed a man in a political dispute in Boston in 1806 (Paul Revere was a member of the jury) to the medical student who neatly poisoned his secret wife in 1892. Of particular interest are the compiler's notes on the significant points for each case. Includes a comprehensive Index. A very nice copy of this indispensible and highly collectable reference work.
