On November 6th, 1942, two men entered the office of the Deputy Director of Indian Manpower and shot him dead in broad daylight. This was the first assassination of a Member of Kenya Legislative Council in the history of Kenya. The murder of Hon Isher Dass was deliberately planned by those who resented the part he had played in advocating steps taken to control Indian manpower.
