In November 1948 a tribunal was established under Justice Lynskey to look into accusations of ministers and civil servants being offered, or receiving, bribes in respect of the withdrawal of a prosecution against a firm of football pool promoters. The Tribunal sat for twenty-six days between 15th November and 21st December 1948 and heard sixty witnesses. Contains three portrait sketches of Sydney Stanley, George Gibson and John Belcher.
