The author's short account of some members of his family, written for his nephews and nieces. His grandfather went to London from Croydon in 1819, at the age of sixteen, and entered the office of an attorney called William Tucker. In 1822 the business passed to Tucker's partner, William Collins Webb, who died or retired in 1829, when his grandfather was admitted and took over the practice. His name appeared on the Law List for the first time in 1830. The author entered the firm in 1900. A fascinating booklet on the family firm which was based on the ground floor of their home at No. 8 Bartletts Buildings, Holborn.
