American Oliver Wendell Holmes was Professor of Law at Harvard, Associate Judge and Chief Justice of Massachusetts, then Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. In 1874 on a visit to England, he met F.P. Pollock (later Sir Frederick) who was called to the Bar in 1871. Their friendship continued for 61 years and their correspondence was first published by Harvard University in 1941. Introduction to this edition is by Sir John Pollock, Bart. Includes Index.
