xxi+xviii+123pp. Navy cloth with gilt titles. Bookplate inside cover. A very nice unabridged reprint of the edition first published in 1915 with new Foreword by Stephen Whitfield, Bradeis University. When Scott Nearing was dismissed by the trustees of the University of Pennsylvania in 1915, the events became a landmark in the struggle to teach freely. His colleague, Lightner Witmer, published the story and made the public aware of the process of decision-making at a major American university.
